Good starting book
I recommend Barry Burd
for students learning Java and for more experienced Java programmers. Though written informally, it describes the language in detail and provides many examples. To improve clarity, most of the general rules
are like me and spend a lot of time learning by example, you will find this book an excellent resource.

Disappointing
I am a Java newbie and purchased this book in addition
This book really is worth every penny. It makes learning about Java much easier. Anyone just learning Java should get this book. It is not filled wit all those gibberish details that most Java books have
derives from the author's `lessons learned` notes, and they're rich with information. If nothing in this book surprises you, you're probably very experienced with Java.

A Joke?
Bruce Tate tried to make learning Java more fun. He failed miserable. What is this? A novel? A sports book? More than
of the frameworks discussed and learn a few new languages. This book will teach you what a new language needs to succeed, so when things do change, you'll be more prepared. And even if you think Java is here
